Holly Middleton

Holly Middleton serves as the Associate Director of Engaged Scholarship for urbanCORE, where she develops approaches to supporting the community engagement research and teaching agendas of UNC Charlotte faculty.

She has over fifteen years experience in higher education curriculum and program design, inclusive teaching practices, and community of practice-based assessment. Her publication and service record demonstrates a history of helping writers cross boundaries, from reducing gender bias in a first-year writing program to helping faculty meet narrative expectations for tenure and promotion.

Dr. Middleton is also a founding co-editor of the journal Literacy in Composition Studies. She earned her Ph.D. in English from the University of Pittsburgh.
