Elaine Jacobs

Elaine Jacobs joined the Urban Institute after more than 20 years with the Charlotte Observer, most recently as the Newsroom Administration Manager. Currently, she serves as the Business Services Coordinator working with Executive Director, Dr. Lori Thomas and other directors to manage the overall work of the Urban Institute, especially with pre and post-award grant management. She also works closely with the Charlotte Regional Data Trust Board and Executive Committee in their advisory role to the Data Trust and the Urban Institute.

A native of Gaston County, she is a proud alumnus of UNC Charlotte where she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice. When she isn’t helping the Research Team with proposals and project tracking, she’s out hiking, or camping with her spouse and two beagles.
